Schillings Birch Plywood is met with the highest grading standards for strength and appearance. Birch Plywood has no holes or voids in the core of the wood, making it exceptionally sturdy. It has excellent screw-holding capabilities because the core layers are a hard birch wood versus a softer wood that can spread and loosen when screws are inserted. Exterior uses include specialty construction and industrial applications such as fences, soffits, truck and boxcar linings, commercial refrigerators, and other applications in which exposure to high moisture is anticipated and smoothness and/or appearance are important. Interior uses include cabinetry, furniture manufacturing, paneling, and shelving. It also meets or surpasses building code requirements for fire safety, strength, and sound transmission.
This Plywood is C2 graded meaning the “C” side has a more rough surface with visible knots and splits when compared to grade B. The “2” is the grade of the backside of the board. Grade 2 is used when color isn’t a concern. Larger knots are allowed, but they do not exceed a diameter of 3/4″.
